Phoenix Pre Race

Feb 28, 2014

Heading into the second race of the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season, Reed Sorenson and the No. 36 Tommy Baldwin Racing Chevrolet have great expectations after a solid run at the Daytona 500.

Fast Facts: The Profit on CNBC 500(k) will be ran on Sunday, March 2nd beginning at 3pm ET on your local NASCAR on FOX station.

In addition, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will be starting the new qualifying format on Friday evening. Cars will qualify under a "group" format. There will be two sessions, the first being thirty minutes, where all cars will have an opportunity on the track to post their fastest lap. After that first session, only the twelve fastest cars will remain, and they will have ten additional minutes on track to try and obtain the fastest lap for the pole award.

Reed Sorenson on heading to Phoenix: "We had a great run in Daytona, I am really looking forward to getting back behind of the wheel of my No. 36 TBR Chevy. I enjoy working with Todd, he is a huge asset to the team, and I know these guys have been working hard to get the cars ready to go for this weekend in Phoenix. Hopefully we can have another solid run and continue the momentum for the start of the season."

Crew Chief Todd Parrott on the keys to racing at Phoenix: "Heading to PIR this weekend, there are many key elements in play. You have to have a car that rolls through the center, has good drive off the corner and pit crew that can get the job done on pit road. Tire strategy and track position are keys to having a successful race and our team is looking forward to building on our efforts at Daytona."
