Daytona Pre Race Notes

Jul 03, 2014

Huntersville, NC (July 3, 2014) - Tommy Baldwin Racing heads to Daytona International Speedway this weekend and primary sponsor Golden Corral is hoping to give away free meals to kids across the country if Reed Sorenson finishes in the Top-10 on Saturday night.

Golden Corral restaurants will offer a one-day Top 10 Kids Eat Free promotion on the following Monday, July 7th. The offer: Kids Eat Free with the purchase of an adult buffet at regular price (limit 2 kids meals per adult buffet purchased).

Honoring American and Military Families: In celebration of the July 4th holiday weekend, Sorenson will continue to represent our nation's colors through a new patriotic paint scheme as Tommy Baldwin Racing wraps up their Salute the Troops campaign. The car design includes the Camp Corral logo. Camp Corral provides a fun, summer camp experience for children (ages 8 to 15) of military service members who have been injured or who have fallen while protecting our freedom. Golden Corral is the founding sponsor of Camp Corral and guests at their restaurants across the country have already donated over $1.5 million to Camp Corral this year.

At the Track: Starting the weekend, Sorenson will make a stop in the Daytona International Speedway Media Center at 5:45 on Thursday, July 3rd. Together with teammate Michael Annett, the drivers will be discussing the Tommy Baldwin Racing Salute the Troops campaign that ends this weekend.

Public appearances for Sorenson begin on Saturday, starting his day at the Team Chevy display at 1:30 p.m. with Michael Annett for a Q&A, followed by an autograph session. Sorenson will then have a visit at the Sprint Experience at 3:45.

Sorenson on Daytona: "It's good to have Golden Corral back on board my No. 36 Chevrolet. I am looking forward to getting back out on the track and doing some restrictor plate racing. We had a really great car in February when we were here, and stayed up towards the front for most of the race. It would be nice to get a top 10, and all kids could eat free on Monday. This weekend is a big weekend for everyone here at Tommy Baldwin Racing, as we wrap up our Salute the Troops campaign. I can't thank Chevrolet and Theme Park Connection enough for all their support these past couple of weeks. Thank you to all of the fans who sent in Thank You letters for our troops overseas. Hopefully the money we raised will go towards helping out more military families through the Armed Forces Foundation."
